Derfin MP3 Google Play termination

Development, Projects

Derfin MP3 Downloader was deleted from Google Play Store by the Google Team. The reason:

Violation of section 4.4 of the Developer Distribution Agreement which states that:

You agree that you will not engage in any activity with the Store, including the development or distribution of Products, that interferes with, disrupts, damages, or accesses in an unauthorized manner the devices, servers, networks, or other properties or services of any third party including, but not limited to, Android users, Google or any mobile network operator. You may not use customer information obtained from the Store to sell or distribute Products outside of the Store.”

We suppose that the underlined text is what removed Derfin from Play Store. Also, in the eMail, they link to the ToS of YouTube and the YouTube API ToS. Our App doesn’t use the YouTube API, so we ignored that, but reading the YouTube TOS we found:

“[…] Such Content may not be downloaded, copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, displayed, sold, licensed, or otherwise exploited for any other purpose whatsoever without the prior written consent of YouTube or, where applicable, YouTube’s licensors. YouTube and its licensors reserve all rights not expressly granted in and to their Content.”

So we’re pretty sure that it wouldn’t make sense to insist in the fact that our app is actually just a framework for an online service which isn’t even operated by us.

Derfin MP3 Downloader will be discontinued. We will inform about new projects as soon as we decide to do next.

Even if there will only be a few updates from now, you can download/update Derfin MP3 from our Aptoide store.

We want to thank everyone who supported and continues supporting Derfin MP3. It was our first project and won’t be our last. Thank you all!
